A PET- MR study of occipital connectivity in DLB (ALLSPICE)
This study is using simultaneous PET (positron emission tomography) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) to see whether the signals between the vision part of the brain and other parts of the brain are altered, and whether these alterations may be related to things like visual hallucinations or other visual problems that can occur in people with DLB. This will help us to better understand whether reduced activity in the visual part of the brain is a cause or consequence of the hallucinations, helping us to understand the origins of these symptoms better so that we can develop more effective treatments for DLB.
